Quote: " ?? How can you not put a processor and heatsink on properly ??"
I have a funny story about this. You see one time, someone i built a computer for, decided to do his own "maintenance" on each of the devices, and the case. He brought it to me a few days later, saying it wasn't working etc...
Now before i go on, lemme explain something. In order for a processor to work, it needs proper cooling as most of you know.
Basiclly, He had cleaned everythign in the computer... everything. Including washing the heat dope of of the heat sink. So basiclly, there was this heatsink, rattling around on its own in the case... I laughed a little... thought it was nothign serious at that point. Fixed the heat sink back on... turned on the computer still not booting up correctly (blank screen... no beep).
Still baffled i was... then i noticed the Fans on the case, had been reinserted backwords. Laughing again... i turned them around and placed them correct (which it should been obvious to the poor guy, when the fans are marked "this side outside!".
Turned ont he puter... still no repsonse.
Thats when i got angry, opened her up again... but this time witha very bright light. Thats when i noticed the funniest thing... the pins on the processer where sticking from the side... could see there edges.
I investigate more to learn... he smashed the processer down in there with all his might... bending every single pin. I had more then a light laugh when i saw that. The only reason the processer was in its place is because about 8 of the pins on the outside of 3 of the edges we're in correctly.
So the answer is... Its easily possible not to put them on properly, in this world atleast
