I've been using DarkBasic Professional for a while and I can make simple 2d games fine. I understand most of the 2d concepts. I want to try and play around with 3d stuff. I can model objects in Lightwave and texture on my own.

I might be asking too much but could someone point me in the direction or even write a tutorial or lay out the basic steps to make something like this:

A 3d character in a 3d world. 3rd person view. Camera rotate with mouse. Character moves with wsad. So for this part I need to know how to load the environment (is it one object file or many put together), the character in standing pose (maybe as a loop animation), and a walk animation when the move buttons are hit. How does collision work with the environment, character and camera?

Then I'd also like to know if you roll over a certain object in the world. How do you test for that? Lets say to serve as a door to enter a new zone or to interact with an npc type object.

I'm not really worried about how to make the game interactive as much as how to set that shell up I stated above. I don't know the proper method to load objects, textures, animations, deal with the camera etc. I've seen people mention something about matrix?

Anyway. I'm sure this is too much to ask and either I'll get no replies or just "go to the codebase" but I'm hopefull.

Thanks for reading.

All right. But isn't that for DarkBasic and not DB Pro? I thought they were pretty different.

(Love Invader Zim BTW - MY SPINE!)
