Here's a render of a pirate I modelled in Cinema 4D. It started off just as a head but then I decided to make the rest of his body too. I didn't use any refrence pictures - it's meant to have a sort of cartoony feel to it. I'm currently working on rigging up a skeleton so I can animate him.
Took about a week to make, and I'm planning on adding some trousers and a shirt too.

Any comments etc. welcome,
Robin

Heh I like it, looks good. Belly might want to over hang a bit more, also his feet look a bit small, but that might just be the perspective. Love the head

Thanks for the comments - I'll get some side/front views etc and put them up here. Good point about the belly - I'll see to that

He's not very piratey though is he? - no rotten teeth showing, no badly drawn tattoos, no wooden limbs. He must be a newbie pirate, damn his underware is even clean - looks more like my dad on holiday.

Nice model though, next one you should make it for a game instead, like <1000 poly's.

Give me a chance I'm going to give him some piratey clothes with tears and grime on and a cutlas and then I'm sure he'll look more like a pirate . I didn't think of tatoos actually but now you mention it I think I'll add some. I've attached a picture of some side views but i won't link to the image as it's quite massive and would take ages to download on slower connections.

He's got a nice big toe... of course, i guess big toes are supposed to be.. uh big, ya...

I like the way his belly hangs out a bit.

Well, I'm trying aren't I.....

I find it amazing. If I tried to model that it would come out looking like Bea Arthur.....Bea Arthur with pointy edges on her face...lol
