As Ristar said, he is making the hand to help the community... What if someone needed a high poly hand, maybe not for a game? The hand is for anyone who needs it and if someone needs a detailed hand, they got one.

Why not get a poly reduction tool and try that...

well, believe me, u dont wanna use poly reduction tools, u dont wanna use poly reduction tools, nope, i didnt mistake type twice, u dont really wanna use them, its better to weld some verts at hand then to use PRT, they are generally really bad things, although some look good in arquitecture geometry reduction !

yea i wouldnt go for the reduction tool
but deleting some face to get a lower poly hand should work
and if u want to make it high poly u will have to work a little for that , edit details , insert faces and so , but it can be useful for high poly too

@RisTar - I know the texture needs some work...maybe more, but i made the barrel quickly (in 10 mins i think or less). As for the tutorials, sign-up to my forums and there is a TUTORIALS board, where you can post as many as you want. I have to think about the 3D models...My site is kind of personally, you know...like Psionic's. Don't mind about that..

@mustrix - You're a good modeller too, but you have to work more on textures, skins... RisTar posted more of his work on Psionic's forum (i didn't know that he is the same guy...i recognized it after he posted the CrashBandicoot character which is pretty nice for a low poly model) and of course, i saw some of your work too. RisTar works more clean and he has better results than yours, sincerly. His models' details are impressive. Anyway guys, stop fighting...keep working and both of you will become better

Under construction...

Oh. Gotcha. Maybe you could scan them elsewhere and email them to you? Your a great modeller and it would be great to see some original characters.

Noob alert!

There's some really nice models here, and the forums seem friendly and helpful.

This site might be useful, though the models are only available as maya or fbx files.

I take the side of RisTar on this one. No offense to anybody. Just keep modeling and prcticing and maybe we wont have this problem. The people are ok. But most of all I like the barrel which is fairly simple to make (for some people). So lets get back on topic.

It has been said that the body is a slave to the mind. Only the mind knows no freedom.

Heres a lower poly modified version of RisTar_sn's hand model.
I actually made it from near scratch.. I cut off all the fingers and began working from just the palm.
Im glad you made the hand model as now i have now a sort of templete.
Heres is the low poly hand model:

Hope this is ok with you to have posted a lower poly version RisTar..
