Don't exactly know what it saves it as normally, but in a pinch you can save your presentations as swf which can be opened by any computer made this decade.

i dont understand why microsoft put powerpoint in all of their os's but the one that goes into most of the computers

PowerPoint doesn't come with any Microsoft Operating System. PowerPoint is part of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, which include Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Publisher.

Unfortunately Impress is probably the weakest part of the OpenOffice suite, but it will suffice for your needs.

Edit: I should mention that if you are a student, parent or teacher, you can get a much cheaper version of Office. The Student and Teacher edition is only £90 (Word,Excel,PowerPoint,Outlook).

acctually it is nice, and i thought it came with XP pro, and it came with my old computer that ran on 98 untill it sortof started on fire when i tried to play a game on it
