Hi @all,
I'm right now working on my 3d luna lander simulator. For landing and roving I need good realtime shadows. But as everybody knows, DBPro isn't so good in providing good and fast realtime shadows...
That's the reason because I decided to precalculate my shadows and then place them on plains, clothes or matrixes.
So far so good. But I don't like to create every shadow "by hand". That's the reason why I started programming the "ShadowGrabber".
You can download the ShadowGrabber here for free:
http://www.shadowgrabber.com
ShadowGrabber takes a *.x-object and calculates all shadows you need. You just have to enter the sunangle and the stepangle for turning. ShadowGrabber stores the shadow images in the "shadows" folder. If you enter a stepangle of "10" then the program creates 36 shadow images (36 x 10deg = 360deg) :o)
Now you can use the shadows in your program.
I hope you like it and it's useful.
I'm thinking about an additional(commercial) version for grabbing of animated shadows.
I'm looking forward to your feedback!
Thank's to all!
