Just another test, spiral stairs this time.

Collision works a treat, very fast and very smooth .

Van - Are those stair cases one segment? How easy would it be build a large spiral staircase?

Yeah, they're only 1x1 segments, they stack nicely on top of each other - there should be no problem making a bigger set, maybe with a handrail around too. With a 2x2 segment stair, you could use the roof segment as a step off.

That was just a case of saving a .x mesh into the segments folder and hacking an existing script with the .x filename and saving it as a new segment using notepad. It's like 10 minutes work in total, did'nt even UV map the stairs, that's just what the Rhino3D spat out .

it seems that even now the beta testers are havin a dabble at the possibilities. I bet that even 12 months down the line we will be discovering new ways to impliment certain things that we cannot even imagine right now. I didn't even believe we could make a spiral staircase!! Looking good....

Van B - I'm interested in modeling some objects for my game (see my post towards the end of this thread - http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=46869&b=21 )

and I know Noldor and Evarcha are modeling some objects and whatnot, but we really don't have anything to use as a scale of reference for FPSC.

I'm wondering if you would be willing to post your spiral staircase here as an attachment (the .x file even untextured is fine) or some other item/object so I can try importing it into Cartography Shop and using it as a frame of reference for size.

Obviously I'm not asking that you (or anyone!) post any of TGC's media, just something you might have created (staircase?) which is scaled correctly for FPSC characters.

Thanks if you can provide any help!

I don't think scaling the complete models after EA is released will be a big job. It wont take long.

Probably won't, but I'm realtively amateur at this and since I'm making models now I see no reason to make more work for myself later on.
