Hi! I'd say that Cinema 4D has all that you need if you have the Studio Bundle R9.

One of my friend found it from the internet for free by Shareaza so that means if you can get it through internet for free you'd save about 700$ . It's illegal I know but it's a way of saving money!

Cinema 4D can make anything as well as 3ds MAX, in fact I think think you can model much easier in it. So for someone that is new to 3D, Cinema 4D is the better choice. It also comes with some awesome video tutorials, that makes things very easy. It also has a built in paint program that is a dream come true. Which is why some movie studios are using it. Polar Express, Spider-man 2, etc.

Also you can get a student version for non-commercial projects for only $20 if you take an on-line class.

@BiggAdd C4D has Shave and a Hair Cut. Also there is no need to be annoyed about exporting. The plugin XPort brings aniamtion, bones and more as a .x into DBpro with no troubble at all.

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm XPort..... Drool! THanks for the handy info on that plugin. Now i can use Cinema 4D For everything. BTW Have you heard of the Plugin Baker?? It basically allows you to use Cinema 4D as a lightmapper (As long as you unwrap your UV's correctly ).
