Hi, this is my first ever [lame] attempt at modeling, i used anim8or, you are free to use the model in your games, you dont have to credit me.

The model is a "Photon Blaster" futuristic weapon.

Ummm, no offence but it just looks like a deformed block. You might want to try get some shape into it give it a proper handle and stuff, if your going after futuristic try thinking ergonomically.

Base it on real projectile weapons and you will find your designs come out much better.

lol same here....not trying to flame on you but yeah you do need more of a shape... i use to use Anim8or and I could actually get some pretty good stuff out of it but still it's not that great of an editor but good try and keep practicing.

It's not the editor as much as the artist. A seasoned Anim8or user could run rings around a novice 3ds Max user.

3D is not easy DBAlex, but if you practice for 30 min a day 5 days a week. on a few months you will start to put out some nice stuff. On the other hand, playing with it now and then you will basically stay the same or just crawl.

yes that is true...practice practice and more practice. and soon you will be pretty good. that's how i started off. first i went to anim8or and then i went to milkshape...then maya...then milkshape... and so far from reading books/articles and practicing... i have something to show for my hard work.
