Not a bad game. Simply built and well thought up. Would be cool if there are trails left behind the player when u go over the speed boosters. To tell the player they are fast.

That is one nice game. How long did it take to develop it?

Thanks to everyone to have played my game and for feedback!!
I've developed it in about one month (mostly during xmas vacation) and it's my first work in DB.
EFX can you tell me if the error occurs any time you try to start the game or when ? It should be of help to fix eventual bugs.
The trails idea is good, i'll have it included in the next game update, thanks FLAM3!

i loved it! only gripes are that the music gets tiring after a while, would not hurt to have more variety. also, the graphical simplicity. could you put things out side the course for scenery, like castles, monsters, things like that? i think that would improve the game vastly.

Well done FLAME3! Did you play at 50fps? If so, you've a reaction time better than mine and my brother's, as he's been the not-so-volunteer beta-tester
I'm glad so much people found the game fun, i've thought the levels a lot during game design.
The Nerd, try out this link, I've been inspired bt this old C64 game:

It could be useful to you, too.

Good Work Alex

I enjoyed playing the whole game.

But, it is true what Flindiana said... the graphics are a bit ordinary.

Maybe spice it up with some different models for the blocks, like bit spikey balls, or donuts or something

Again, Good work

Jess.

Nice work - simple but fun. Would be nice to have a track with bends and bumps in it for the next version, and a timer which counts down to zero rather than up would make more sense.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

If you don't know already, your game is mentioned in the scandinavic game magazine SuperPLAY!
They show a picture from the game, and describes it. And of course they give a link to the download.

AlexRiva,

real nice for a first game, very well done.

the graphics are simple, but do the job nicley.

loading it with some eye candy would work wonders for the game, the speed trails as mentioned and a bit more work on the track. again i have to say that for a first game this is good. well above the average level for first games. I loved trailbalzer but was never very good at it.

if you send me or post the media you have used in the game, i would be only too glad to touch up the graphics for you, it's more important you keep coding at the moment, developing the skills you already have and learning new ones. the graphics are really the only thing that 'lets down' the game. ( not that they are actually that bad as i have already said. but a good game does need good graphics to give it that extra appeal.)

well done, geecee3.

@KLU 007: Wow! I'm going to check out their website now! Thanks for advice!

@geecee3: thanks for your help offer! I'll be happy to have your help on graphics! I'm now working on another project for the onGamedev compo, but my next project will be Marble Run 2. I've improved a lot my graphical abilities from Marble Run and I'm going to add new and better textures and new models, since the ones in the first game was only cubes and spheres!
Anyway, if you want I can send you on your mail the textures and landscapes i used for MR. Simply give me your OK here or by mail and I'll send you them (only 1-2Mb of zipped stuff). Then I could release a 1.5 Freeware version with your improved graphics and, obviously, "additional graphics by geecee3" (or by Gr. Cl. ) in the Credits
btw: I've seen your games and they are very good, Nanopod reminds me something from Jeff Minter I played on my uncle's C64

hi alex,

mail me those graphics and i'll get started. also mailing me the .EXE with references to the external media would be of a great help. so as i can test the graphics as they are made.

oh and jeff minter is a god! (everyone bow now please)

cheers m8. geecee3.

oh. by the way, nanopod is based on another game by the author of trailbalzer. see if you can guess what it is. (on the C64)
