DLL Talk / how do you make a dll

hi i have never made a dll before but im realy intrested in programing. i program with darkbasic pro. i want to know how to make my own dll.

you cant in dbp. youll need to use one of the various languages like c++,c#,vb6,vb.net,etc etc

To get your thought process in order...you make DLLs, and use them in DB Pro. You don't make a DLL from DB Pro, and then use it elsewhere.

So you might make a library of network functions (like the plug, CR?) and use them in DB Pro to make a networked game.

vb6 doesn't make true dlls - there activex dlls

Used to be Phoenix_insane registered in september 2003 despite what the date says to the left <--
PC - amd athlon 2.0ghz, 512mb, GeForce FX 5200 128mb, 200gb, xp pro sp2

but there are conversion programs to make vb6 dlls into exported dlls for use in dark basic pro, natively.

...if you can get your head around it ! I "play" with VB, I've even made programs that are in use in a commercial environment. But writing a DLL in VB, even before the conversion, requires an extra depth to your skills. Some people have it...I don't

I'm sure if someone sat down and explained it to me, I'd understand. But even reading the discussions here leaves me somewhat lacking. What I'm saying is...if you already have the skills, you're almost home and dry. If you haven't, expect a longer journey.
