I'm not able to make BlueGUI work properly in Windowed exclusive mode. I guess it works, the gadgets "blink" in for a split second the disappears. No redraw or restore-command seems to remedy this. Anybody know how to do it?

Windowed exclusive mode? I don't have that option. All I have is full screen exclusive, windowed, windowed desktop, windowed full screen, and hidden? Which one of those would be its equivalent?

You cannot display windows gadgets in Fullscreen Exclusive mode - DirectX effectively 'takes over' the display, and you cannot render normal windows (which is what BlueGUI gadgets actually are) on top.

Windowed Fullscreen works fine though, and has the additional benefit that your framerate won't be capped at 60FPS (or whatever your vertical refresh rate is). The downside is a slight tearing problem in certain circumstances - but this is unlikely to be noticeable in any editor-like environment.

@Lost in Thought: No, you are correct, there is no "Windowed Exclusive Mode", my brain was misbehaving when I wrote that, (as always) sorry.

@Rob K: I tried windowed fullscreen but there is a problem;

If I go windowed 800x600 and window full screen and paste a image(also 800x600) it past over the entire screen (although blurry as you would expect) as it runs in fullscreen (my screen is set to 1024x768). But when creating a gadget that is 800x600, it covers only a portion of the screen and if I load a picture into the gadget it doesn't get blurry. I guess that DBP kinda just stretches out the window to fit a full-screen view but Blue doesn't work like that?

Set your DBPro resolution to the same as your desktop - that will solve any problems.

BlueGUI uses 'windows units', DBPro stretches its display to fit the screen.

How do you get the screen resolution on a system?
