Does anyone know the max number of pictures that can be painted on the screen at the same time. I'm currently creating a diablo style inventory system and I need to know if DBP has any limitations in this area.

Thanks

There´s no limitations in numbers of images, only gamespeed decreases if you make lots of images.
but DBP is fast with 2D, so you don´t need to worry about it.

There is an object limitation of 65535, maybe its the same for images, I've personally never used that many at once

Actually the 65,535 limit is only in DB classic. In DBPro there is no such limit - technically it can go up to approx. 22 million (depending on available memory!)

22 million objects on screen at one time???
Wow. That's way cool guy.

Unfortunately a 5120 by 3840 display can only show MOST of them, at one per pixel! It's time for an upgrade I guess to a 6400 by 4800 display! (over 30 million pixels)

I didn't mean on-screen at the same time I do think even Pro would slow down just a little bit with that many objects! Besides if each object took up say 50k of memory you'd need.. well.. a lot of memory

Cheers,

Rich

Basicly it's there so you can worry about other parts of your code and not running out of objects.

Am I a butterfly dreaming I'm a man?
Or a bowling ball dreaming I'm a plate of samishi?
Never assume that what you see or feel is real.
