Yes, this question might of been asked many times, btu I was wondering of a different kind of zombie.

Is it possible to have a zombie that runs really fast and crooked, and when on collision with player, it slashes him with it's claws (I will model in the claws)?

I don't want the zombie lookign for qeapons or hiding anywhere, I just want it to run starightforward at the player, trying to dodge the bullets, and then slashing the player.

Is that possible, with or without coding?

I think it would be possible if you can set the player to take damage upon collison with the enemy. I'm pretty sure you will be able to do that.

- mmh i dont think he means "damage on collision" like in serious sam. As for me , i want to have a super zombie enemy , too
an enemy who behaves like those demons in quake1. only offensive. does not hide. and when it arrives the player , it slashes him with its claws. ( melee )

- SECOND --> what also would be nice...: are we able to set multiple textures to an enemy ? i.e. if you shoot on an enemys lege , you can change his texture to bloody...maybe. possible ?

yeah...thats the ticket !

I dont know, probably, with scripting, yeah.
same goes with the texture question.
edit: but don't forget there are no melee weapons at the moment...

You could modify an existing zombie script to make it run significantly faster than you and charge directly at you. There are no melee weapons (claws included) however. So bear that part in mind.

Hmm. I think iw ill do this. Iw ill make a zombie animate dmodel if it running, then I will make a model of it slashing. Ans basically I will try to script it that when the zombie goes on collision with obj_Player, it will change into obj_slash, and Obj-player will have it that when the player is on collision with obj_slash, the player will lose health.

What do you think?

Could you not set the firing animation to the zombie slashing away and set the gun fire distance really low, and alter the distance from which it "fires", for example it won't fire unless its really close?

Is that not a way of faking mele!? I know this has been suggested before, so presummuing you can do it, give it a try!
