I,m making a pong game and I made a sprite background and the
score as text and I was wondering how might I make the text show up
in front of the sprite. If I cant do this then tell me how I can
display the scores in front of the sprite.

2. That post was weak you obivously didnt help the guy hence
Quote: "
lock pixels
do text
unlock pixels

!!!!
"

had he been help he would of said something like

YO thanks pizzaman for all the help it works know.

Or, Wow thats easy man pizzaman your the best.

3. If you like to argue than heres food for thought your advice didnt help and or work for that matter!

Finally I like to stop by saying sorry i'm mad that this post is a few days old and no one wants to help me and you come here and say
Quote: "you should have tried searching before asking"

Did you even read that thread!

First of all I was trying to HELP YOU, so don't bitch at me.

Second did you even read the thread?

The guy who needed help was Inauxas Dicardum

The guy who posted this
Quote: "lock pixels
do text
unlock pixels"

is called dj chainz, and he is offering another suggestion of how to do what Inauxas Dicardum wanted to do, which is what you want to do. Also did it ever occur to you that not all people say thank you after you help them.

Thirdly did you even try what I suggested, because if you had you would have found that what I said works, don't beleive me then try this code :

or this code

You can check the results of these with the attached picture, notice how the text is over the sprite in both cases.

Note: What I did in those two examples are :

Quote: "1. Hide the sprite, use paste sprite to display the sprite then display the text over it. With this method you can still check for sprite collisions."

Quote: "3. Use the command "draw sprites first", everything will be drawn over the sprites. However if you have 3D objects in view I think these are also draw in front of the sprites - might cause a problem."

Both quotes from myself from that thread.

Fourthly

Quote: "1. I'm not going to look at 2 in a half month old post thats somewhere in the dust bins of the forums like page 3 or what not "

Thats what the search buttons are for

Granted maybe I was a little out of line saying you should have searched, but I did the search for you, gave you the answers; then you go and throw it back in my face - Thanks alot! I'm not supprised no one helped you if this is how you repay them!

EDIT You might also want to look into set sprite priority if you have DBP
