Finally? Erm, when was Lego first sold exactly?

Great PC's though.

On a sidenote, who calls it "Lego", and who calls it "Laygo"? Bad side effect of growing up with welsh parents on an american airbase in italy. Hmmm....

Cheers

Ps. Does it melt if it overheats? Hmmm. Easy method of creating more air intakes though - just take it apart a bit.

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

The stability would worry me. Tall lego structures, even reinforced ones, will jitter when something that vibrates as heavily as a CD-ROM drive is put on top of or in them. I bet a hard drive in that thing wouldn't last for more than a few months, never mind CD scratching. Still, it's a great idea .

I'm betting he glued the stuff together to make sure it didn't fall apart. Bit like Legoland.

Now I want to see a sticklebrick version, or perhaps that space lego I had as a kid! Tops.

Cheers

Ps. So no-one for "Laygo"? Bwwger..... How about "Tetrees" rather than "Tetris"? Anyone?....

He clearly wrote on that very page that he *does not* glue them together.

this is a cool site for all sorts of wierd PCs, if you haven't heard of it yet: http://www.mini-itx.com/
It's been a long time since I've been there, and browsing through the news shows some interesting stuff. AMD's PIC for example...

Hawkeye, I can sell you a Lego PC for $2000, but it comes in kit form and you have to assemble it yourself.

Lol, now there's someone with too much spare time. I've gotta admit though, it's better then a few blue leds and cold cathode tubes and if you ever need a bigger case you can just buy a few more buckets of lego.

I also find it interesting to see who calls the plural of 'Lego', 'Legos'. In my opinion, I've always thought Lego was the plural, just like Sheep, you don't say there are 'Sheeps' over there. I can't imagine ever saying, "I have a box of Legos", it sounds so wrong. On the contrary, "I have 10 Lego" also sounds incorrect, in that context, it should probably be, "I have 10 Lego Bricks". Damn this product and it's linguistic defects.

what about a pc case made with that magnetix stuff. (yes that was a joke). And the lego wont necessarily fall apart, i've had two blocks that were stuck together for like 1 week and they are a bastard to pull apart. and lego doesnt melt like cheese when it gets hot it burns and chars.

That's a pretty nifty idea, the only thing is what would happen if you dropped it

On the other hand, I say "Laygo" - Go South Aussie slang!

Well at least with a normal computer you don't have to pick up forty-bajillion little bits of plastic.

And I thought that the metal in the Computer-boxes was there also for protection. and knowing that Lego is pure plastic, I think it's not the case anymore.

I always called them lay-go and lay-gos. I believe the -s plural is correct but I wouldn't be an authority on the pronunciation. I have three older siblings to blame it on however

Ah, I always used the sheep example. Doesn't sound right to me to say "Look at all my legos on the floor!". More like "Look at all my lego bricks on the floor!". Probably because it's the brand name, and the description of the stuff.

if you say "warter" when you mean water, then you're probably pronouncing lego wrong

IT'S PRONOUNCED LEG-OOO

and yes, I've always called the legos. A lego brick may in fact be called a lego

Hmmm. Lots of winks in the above posts. So....

Neofish : You are saying "Lego is singular and plural - wink wink, only kidding"...? So what, you are saying it's not singular and plural?
Flindiana : Fair enough, pulling our leg a bit about ruler of everything. Seems to fit.
Jerico : Saying "you're probably pronouncing lego wrong " means you think they aren't saying it wrong, or wink wink I'm just being awkward for the fun of it? And "A lego brick may in fact be called a lego " ?

Sorry, smileys are like punctuation really, and bit hard to translate sometimes. Next time I will get out my axe and chop someone's arm off

What's wrong with refering to specific things by their brand names? Generalizing, say, all tissues as kleenex or all vacuums as hoovers is a bit odd, but if you're only talking about Legos, what's wrong with calling them that?

ye but you do call things by their brand name, sometimes..

For example, what do you call a sony walkman? The physical object is a portable tape player, but you call it a walkman don't ya. There's a billion brand names that we use as everyday words.

Lego's is one of em

And the wink isn't to show that I may be lieing, but instead the wink can also signify a truthful statement that you got wrong It's my contempt for you, but really no harm meant
