192.168.1.1 isnt an ip address.. although i'm sure your kidding. That'd be a router address.

192.168.0.1 or 1.1 is oftenly the computer itself if you don't own a router. If you own a router, it takes the 0.1 or 1.1 spot and assigns your computer a different ip, under normal cirumstances.
