When it comes to coding, im fine, when it comes to world building, im ok, but when it comes to modeling humans or creatures, i suck.
I use 3d canvas but dont like it.
So, does anyone know of a program that is free and is good for making human models?

Blender has everyting you need but at a steeper learning curve than most 3d programs, learn the hot keys and use ur middle mouse button a whole lot will get u used to it really quickly. heres a website with basically all the hotkeys http://blender.excellentwhale.com/

Blender has a python script called
MakeHuman (I have not used it yet) that is supposed to help

here is the link to the page
http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Python_Scripts.3.0.html
and the direct link
http://projects.blender.org/projects/makeh/

Keep in mind that Blender will be harder to learn because it tries to do more.
You not only model but animate, and render and have a built in game engine (Which looks like it still is not ready for prime time; according to comments viewed.)

I still think that will be a great tool to learn, at least for the price they charge (FREE).

Try Silo. You get a 17 day trial where everything works. If you like it it's only $109. It's very easy to learn!
