Is it just me or my computer? I've tried to write a simple 2d game and just the basic sliding sprites across the screen end up very jerky. If I increase the sync rate it's less noticable, but it still there. I searched all the 2d source I could find with the same results.

any help?

You need to post your source code if you want any specific help
All I can say without seeing anything is that you should put as little as possible inside the actually game loop, in fact I find if you can set everything into separate functions it goes the fastest.

Another problem could be that when you run the game, you're not deleting all of your images/bitmaps/sprites/memblocks before you exit. It's especially important on slower computers to purge graphics memory before you exit your game to speed things up.

I thought purging your memory was automaticly done.

Hi,

I get that occasionally too, but when changing the project to run in full screen exclusive mode (assuming you're using DBP) it goes away, give that a whirl..?

Cheers

Cool, glad it worked

On the purging memory stuff, yes DBP does its own 'garbage collection', have a look at this post:

Hope it helps,
Cheers.
