Hello!

I am making a space RTS, and I have been looking for a good map of the solar system to use in an in-game info screen. I tried searching on Google, but believe it or not, I cannot find anything worthwhile! Every map I find is some fancy flash or HTML map, that has you click each planet, I just want a single image, that I can save and edit. If you know of any such map, please post it. Thanks!

well I understand that, but there must be a map out there somewhere that shows all the planets in their "general" positions. Oh and thanks for the link, but I have already been there, and It didn't have what I was looking for.

well if you get the statistics from them you can make it in dbp, divide the distances by say 100000 in metres and size 10 spheres to something around 1 (say 10 for the sun) so you can see them all. then make them look right, texture etc and then you have a 3D map

or I could just find a simple map with all the planets lined up, and use that, problem is, I can't find one

There is no such map. If Earth were 1 pixel on such a map, your screen would have to stretch down the block to see the pixel that is Mars.

I don't think anybody gets what I am saying, I don't want a realistic map, with any kind of distance scale or what not, I just want pictures of all the planets right next to each other in the order that they go, and their name next to em, not a realistic map.

I might have to make my own, I am just afraid it won't turn out very good, as I have yet to understand how you import other pictures into your current image in Gimp.

First result of a google image search for 'solar system'. That would have taken about one fifth the time it did to make this post and pass the buck.

It is a perilous occupation for TGC to post anything by way of a promise, as the words get etched in indestructable marble for all time.

Well I have firefox, and it has that little quick google search box up in the right hand corner, it doesn't give you an image option, and I use that a lot, so I often forget the options found on the actuall web site.
