what do u want to do? many will discourage you from doing RPG's, but i dont think theyd be much harder than FPS's. You could do an RTS if you want, but i wouldnt do an MMORPG if i were you, chances are youll never finish it and youll be flamed a TON for even mentioning the word "MMORPG". What do you want to do though?

To be honest, i want to make a fps like counter strike beacause ive got alot of models. But i followed the monster hunt tutorial and understood it but because it was mostly copying and pasting the code it felt like i had not accomplished anything. Should i just memorize the coding?

Thanks

To learn from a tutorial like that you should write it out yourself(it helps it stick) and make changes, like the bullet speed, inverting the controls, different textures etc... then just make another program using what youve learned and a few new commands and learn to use them.

...or at least, thats how i learned.

Download walaber's newton wrapper, take a look at the demo fps in there. He hasn't really made it into a full game so it's not like you're copying and pasting the code Add multiple weapons, some enemy AI, a different level, etc. etc.

Just my $.02

not sure what you mean, u mean memorize the coding of Monster Hunt, or the commands in DBP? If u mean Monster Hunt, u dont need to memorize it just figure out what everythings doing. If you mean the commands, then no, i wouldnt sit there for days studying every piece of code and memorizing it, as u develop ur game ull learn what u need to know to make it, just ask questions on the forums .
