I'm stuck, I'm making a game and have been working on it for about a month. But right now, I'm slowing down, I'm getting lazy, making excuses on why I'm not doing it, no matter how dumb they are. I'm losing motivation for a game that I really want to make and finish. Guys how do you motivate yourselves?

Well, I'm trying aren't I.....

Whoa, Deja-vu...nevermind.

[!!! !!!]
You need to read some motivational peices of writing...like the product descriptions from the TGC site. That should work...

That's easy, just open your fridge, and read some nutrition information that's located on milk, cans and other products.

Then when you are half way done, you will probably say: "Potassium! That's exactly what I was looking for!"

Haha, I guess that works, I just have issues with sound, with a bro, sis, gma, gpa, mom, dad, and evil cat, its never quiet, did I mention the constant nonsense called School? I can't ever concentrate, and I have issues with concentration.

Well, I'm trying aren't I.....

You need to realise that you shouldn't quit a project just because you can't be bothered to work on it sometimes, because you'll probably fire it up again in a weeks time and do more work. Its very hard trying to stick to a project, doing the same thing every day. Sometimes its best to take breaks.

set targets, say "by the end of the day im going to get this done" and strictly stick to it. it's better than doing lots of different things at once

Unfortunately, I try to do that, but then my sister starts yelling about how I'm on the computer to much and how she never gets any time, and then my brother starts yellling, so new circumstances emerge so I can't do those things.

erm, when youve just been thrown off the computer you could alos try and draw on paper of how you imagine your game.. make up some photo shoots of your actors and something they'd say. If you don't like drawing then you could read book/ watch films that get you thinking highly about your game or programming in general... that way you can walk away from it later on and start thinking about your game more?

ok I needed this second post cus I'm attaching something. I downloaded a free program called DogWaffle and I'm learning how to use it... it doesn't have cut and paste and nice things I have in MSPaint, so I load up both programs and load them up when I need something edited.
This character hasn't been thought up before or isn't any main character, but I see it as one man in army in our game. It's just showing some atmosphere. Even though I don't like it and I won't stick in in my game, I've still done something towards it.

I also read 'Masters Of Doom' which tells how John Romero and John Carmack went through life and developed Doom with the friends they made along the way in software companies with all the terrible times included (leaving jobs and firing people). Great book, read it over again when I'm doing nothing on my game if I can.

I have lately stopped producing as much work as I did for a game and start watching/playing other things so it's best if you use this time playing and watching things that strictly relate to your game. I also can't even load up Classic and write small programs to practice loops or make the map editor or anything so I'm just in the same bag as you. I'll make my game first off corse and get ahead of you AHAH yeah you'll see my game released and you'll still be looking at a 3 minute story intro on your game.. yeah yeah yeah!
the view tab btw. I hope it opens a jpeg pic up .
