human models are probably among the most difficult things to do, especially in high-quality.
i am currently working on a 3d-model of a human (my 5th try). when i'm done (sadly probably not too soon) i might offer you a 'lite-version', as the actual model is planned for a game-project of a couple of pals of mine.
i would advise you to use simple graphics for now, and concentrate on the game-engine first, 'eye-candy' can be added later imho.
