i have not named my game yet, but i am making a game like halo 2 on XBOX live. Basically i am making a massive net game for the pc. So we can be playing each other over the pc and talking to each orther threw a microphone. THIS IS NOT A COPY OF HALO 2 . Its only like xbox live. Anyway i really need some help putting it on the net by that i mean some one needs to help me over msn or aim to make it so that it can actually be played with you and me. At the moment i have started programming it so that its for 1 player so somewhere i have to make it do the same thing for orther internet players and bring them into my world. At the moment there are 708 lines of code yuo can do lots of things like get in tanks, change weapon , shoot , throw smoke grenadeds (i am doing that now) ,has a menu with my logo thingy (video) at the start, and loads more i would have to show you the exe. Still even 708 lines of code i need to write loads more. and also i need help with the object collision. SO any help in internet game making or object collision i would be most gratefull. I have encolsed some screen shots.

edit>> just downloaded zip, didn't realise that they were screenies
edit>> interesting pics, the sniper pic is pixelated too much
edit>> and to be honest it looks like you've got a long way to go

Ur on DBC, and I reccomend you get the Multisync plugin from Benjamin to do the internet stuff (even though I can't yet get the plugin working). It is compatible with DBC.

However, as IanG said, you look a long way off. And I don't think you can really copy XBOX LIVE as it is a professional money-making system no one here can create.

I was making a huge FPS, once. Project ended up being too big. 2000 lines of object management for nothing. If you're looking to create a top quality FPS in DB I just don't think it's possible. You can make a small one, but nothing fancy.

Here's the thread, had a wee bit of technical design laid out if it helps you.

!hi! I would suggest getting DBP, using NGC (http://www.nuclearglory.com/ngc.php) for collision and one of the many multiplayer plugins for internet.

It'll cost you some money, but if you're dedicated enough, it's worth it.

Depends on what you're trying to do with it.

It's just a set of new commands that make collision easy.

Grab the demo and give it a whirl.

it would be kind of cool to make a db version of xbox live and implement it into a game and stuff.

[edit]
you could always use the dbp demo and send someone the code to compile it .

Making Xbox Live on DB Pro would be stupid. And i don't know why people Bother trying to make commercial stuff on DBPro, If u want to make money Learn C++. I am very hapy to own DBPro its loads of Fun! But at the moment thats all i see it being. And Don't try and compete with the likes of Bungie (by making your own Halo2) or microsoft(By thinking it would be a good idea to make a Db version of Xbox live). My advice to anyone who wants tobecome a programmer:

1. Program for the best (Microsoft. It has the leading position in game consoles)
2. Program for consoles. The game console buisness rakes more money in now than the film industry, just think about the millions who purchased Halo2, and just think about the millions who pay £40 a year for xbox live.

The only reason i'm so for console programming and the Xbox is because the xbox 2 is meant to deliver graphics found in the film finding nemo. How longhas microsoft been developing consoles? they have only made 2 and they are already the leading runners in it.

@Bigadd
Whoop dee doo, another doubling of graphics processing power. I've always wanted to see finite details such as pubes on character models.

Seriously dude, half of us in here are minors and have no knowledge of or are just dabbling in C++ for the time being. And why bother with developing for consoles? It costs upwards of $300,000 to get an SDK and a license.

And a fun little fact, Microsoft lost money on the Xbox, of course they compensated with their other departments, but that's just because they're Microsoft and have a wallet the size of Manhattan. Playstation 2 leads the sales charts, don't like it myself but statistics don't lie.

@!hi!
Keep it up man. It'd be sweet to finally see a DB shooter that has stable online multiplayer support.

There are plenty of great commercial darkbasic pro games you have no idea what your talkin bout make. I am working on an online multiplayer fps in my spare time and its coming along nicely I will be releasing it here for the community to play around with good team based warfare hehe.

What are you talking about? It will be much better than the current Xbox with it's lineup, especially since it will have more Japanase support, anyways looking good Hi keep it up.
