My program requires a large amount of text at many different sizes, unfortunately using text at different sizes causes a major loss to the frame rate. Is there a way around this? I have tried different fonts but the frame rate still drops from 80fps to 8 or 10 with only 2 different size fonts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can draw some decent bitmap graphics of each letter, then texture them to a plain, then scale the plain. You will probably need a few different sizes of each letter to stop jagginess.

If the text doesn't change much you could even take screenshots of the text you want, and use just paste the blocks of text as images.
