I *think* you should lock this thread

It's irritating how it keeps floating to the top of WIP and overwrites other stuff like Katey's Quest, which does not get enough recognition.

No offence Sage, your recent progress is good, not to put that down, but this thread is sour. When Sage Tech comes back with lots of progress, he can start fresh in a brand new thread.

@Sage - If you want can I lock this while you're gone for a month? That way other projects that are being updated will get the recognition. When you come back if you want I can either unlock this one or you can create a new thread--- either way.

ok, im back from my month of no techknowledgy whatsoever ( I snuck on the computer a few times, but now i can go on it without having to wait till mom and pop are out ) So I snuck on a few times and got some work done, as well as looking at benjemins multisync, which kicks directplays butt, i thought the french werre useless, then I found multisync, it shut me up, thanks Ben. I also discovered the compress atached media button, so the demo is now small. Now though its crap so far and I see no point to it becise giving proof that the game exists, Ill be uploading the game I have so far in a while. And just want to say glad to be back!

Thier is no level model (cut down the file size, im sure no one really cares about the level at this point, as its not interactive yet) so all youll see is a little white block where you begin. Also the credits will malfunction as i didnt include the file and minimizing the program will cuase a runtime error (if anyone knows why, please tell me!)So yes, so far the game sucks, but atleast now you all know it exists.

Use something like Cute FTP and using your account details for ftp login at dbspot, just connect via Cute and copy the game in to your hosts directory.

Then post a link here.

Looks like it could be interesting, but you should have added some sort of docks or island so you wouldn't be hanging in midair over the water (that is water, isn't it?). Just something to think about for your next download.

Also, why does the character go up and down when you press enter and control??

ya, i got rid of the level becouse it was way to big. my new level is small though, so next time you wont be hanging over water. also i added the up down option so i could explore my old level more and test gravity, so thats not permanent. thanks for the responses

Well guys, i just figured out something. Im not ready to code an MORPG worthy of playing quite yet. So im going to set off on my other game for a while and get more expirinece with that. Most likely ill be here soon with a thing about my new wip Mayor (simcity ripoff). I havent given up, im just not ready for the multiplayer yet. untill we meet again...

Yeah, Sage: Sim City is a very hard game to do - you've learnt before not to start too big - don't make the same mistake again and waste your time.

I recommend you make Pong, Pacman or something small first.
I think everyone else will second that.

I've gotta say, most people realised that a few 100 posts ago.

But you tried and that's great. Like Drew Cameron says, start with something simple. I'd much rather play pac-man than an MMORPG any day (me being a 56k'er and all.)
