Hello guys, i've got a problem with a video:
it's an avi-file that has around 1,5 minute playback, but only like 20 seconds you REALLY need to see. One option is cutting the rest off and there you'll have your new avi file with only the useful 20 seconds. But then you don't see the background information of how the guy in the movie got there... so I thought: "i need something that will speed up the rest of the movie (like 2 times or-so) and leave the other 20 seconds at normal speed".

Now, i have 2 video files: 70 seconds of video that i need to speed up and 20 seconds of video that I'll connect to the other one later. How can I speed up that 70 second video to something like 35 seconds (2 times faster)?!

I really don't have a clue I have virtual dub... is it usefull? How can i do this...

thanks in advance!!

ok i got version 5.1. and i assume you got the same!

- on the left hand movie taskbar you select import video (under 1. Capture Video) and choose the video you want. WMM should then divide the movie into segments.
- you drag the segment you want into the start of the storyboard on the bottom of the screen. (if it's not visible you should see a button "show storyboard".
- on the movie taskbar you the select view video effects (under 2. Edit Movie) and you should find an option to 'speed up, double'. Just drag the effect to the storyboard unto your segment. You can then test-play on the right hand side media player.
- Repeat the above steps and play around with the features and when your done you can click on "save to my computer" on the movie taskbar (under 3. Finish Movie) and it should combine all segments within the storyboard into one movie using any codec you specify.

It's a really cool program over-looked by so many people.
