My little brother, Adam, is intering a competition in which he needs to do a presentation (using Power Point). As a part of that he and his friends have made a short video which they want to include in the slide show. For some reason my copy of Power Point refuses to import .avi files, but will import .wmv files. Now my question is:

How can I, freely, convert a .avi file to a .wmv file? They won;t mind adverts so long as they are in the beginning or end of the video - not the middle.

Thanks for your help,

'Switch

Also try Windows Movie Maker--- I think maybe you can import AVIs into it as long as they're not encoded with DivX... then you can export to WMV which I'm sure you can do...

That's because you just use 'Save Movie' instead. Of course, you'll have to move all the imported clips into the timeframe before you save, otherwise you'll get a blank movie.
