here's the deal:

My textures are dropping out when i convert to .x using the JT conversion plug-in... The render view in milkshape they are there..

If I convert the models to .x in lithunwrap it works fine, just wondering if i am doing something wrong in milkshape.....

My current model is > 25K polys (for presentation purpose - not game) so breaking down the model to skin and rebuild is a pain

If you have any idea why the textures are not showing up in DBP using Milkshape to convert, please don't hesitate to respond.....

Thanks in advance for your help

You need to include the textures you made along with the .x model.

Ty for the reply Osiris, however thats not it as the textures are in the media file in addition to being in the same folder as the model itself....

isn't 25000 near milkshape's limits? that may be the issue
Quote: "What are the limitations I should consider when modelling?

There are limits to the number of vertices, triangles, groups, materials, joints and keyframes allowed in MilkShape 3D, it is important to consider these limitations when modelling.

Vertices: 8192
Triangles: 16384
Groups: 128
Materials: 128
Joints: 128
Keyframes: 256
These are the definitions taken from the MS3D file format 'ms3dspec.txt.c' from the MS3D SDK. While your model/s may exceed some of these limitations, the limitations shown here are the limitations under which you will see predictable behaviour when using MilkShape 3D. It is not known what would happen (in respect to the behaviour of MilkShape 3D) to models which exceed these limitations.
"

straight out of their FAQ in the help docs.
remember milkshape was created for making game content.

Thought that might be the problem mm0zct so I broke the model down into smaller pieces and saved as separate models... The issue is on a section that is only 2200 polys...

I'm was throwing it out there in hopes that somebody else has had the same issue with a segment of their model not texturing....

I think the only think to do is to rebuild it from scratch and take a see what happens approach...

thanks for all the help and advice....
