very nice, the only thing i don't like is the intensity of the pattern, maybe tone it down a bit. but otherwise it's just a nice simple site

A demo level named ZombieScience. It never did get added to the old website; as it was uploaded shortly before the web design change.

I uploaded AiEd, an .fpi editor utility, and it quit at 81%. I tried
again, and when I looked at the upload window, it had timed out as well. Does that need to be done again? I'm afraid it may be only a partial upload, if anything.

the upload is not quite working yet -

jcleaver: I have zombiescience001 in the directory I will add it right now

JerBil: I dont have an AiEd in my upload folder - how big is it? You might go ahead and try the upload again.

AiEd is 1.6 MB, and when the upload gets to around 77% to 81%
it just sits there a while then gives me a ASP 0113 timed out error.

That's 3 times so far.

I'm using IE 6/SP2.

Hammer,

No problem, I can help...

OK, go to the site (www.fpscreators.com). On the left-hand side you'll see some buttons. Click on the 'Submissions' button at the bottom.

There you will see a form to fill out. Put in all the information. The last thing on the form is a 'Browse' button. Click that and then browse to where your game file is stored on your machine. Remember, your game file needs to be compressed to a .ZIP file before you can submit it to our site.

Hope that helps.

Hammer,

You can use a program called WinZip to compress your files. Go to www.hotfiles.com and download/install it.

Everything looks great BTW. I do have a question about submitting. If I have a newer version of a level, how do I denote that so the old one gets replaced?

jcleaver,

Good question. This will be easier once we have someone in charge of the games/levels submissions. For now, just put a version number at the end of the name, something like v2 or v3.0 or something like that. When I see that as I'm reviewing the submissions, I'll know to take off the older version.

Hammer, WinXp has zip built in. In Windows Explorer, go to the directory where your demo is and right click on the file. Then go down to "Send To" and select Compressed (zip) folder. Your file will be zipped using the name of the file.

If you hold down the Control Key you can select several files at once, and they will all go into the same zip. If you do this, the zip name will be the name of the last file selected, so you may have to rename
the zipped file, if that's not the name of your project when you're done.

Your game does run in memory, but nothing happens because the media for the game is still on your computer.

When you zip your demo by right clicking,
right click on your demo directory and all the files will be zipped, including all the media folders with it.

Depending on the size of your demo, the resulting zip may be 10 to more than 100 megabytes in size.

The zipped file will be in the directory above your game directory.
