I like to think I'm a 'not bad' modeller, but I can't *create* stuff out of my head. I have to have a picture or something to look at, and it's really retarding progress on my current project. If anyone could donate sketches of characters or architecture, I would be very grateful. I'm making a zombie game based on the Zombie Survival Guide and the Night of The Living Dead movies. I'm looking for profile images of characters and people, and any floorplans or pictures of buildings and architecture would be appreciated.

Also, in return I will give copies of the models to anyone who gives me artwork to make them with. Thanks in advance.

Also, any basic day-to-day outdoor objects you see in a city or large building, like mailboxes and street lamps and such would be appreciated. Attached is an example of what happens when I have to pull stuff out of my butt to use as concept art. It's not finished, but I have no idea what else I'm going to do with it.

For some of your creatures you may want to look at this artist:
http://mypage.uniserve.ca/~thickets/spamart.htm
his stuff is very strange and interesting.

As for the architecture:
Are you looking for a particular time period... like the classic 30's to 50's style houses of most zombie movies.

http://www.eplans.com Has a lot of perspective images of houses to get some creative juices flowing.

http://www.lindal.com has a few of floor plans in PDF format. The houses are not ordinary styles though

If these are no help just give me some basic info of what you are looking for and i could draw up a floor plan for you

GOOD LUCK!!!

http://www.suurland.com is a good website to get blueprints for cars, airplanes and ships, though I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.
They have one of Notre Dame:
http://suurland.com/blueprint_x.php?image=http://www.suurland-media.com/blueprints/churches/notredame.jpg&id=10501

Alternatively, seach google for "building blueprints" on images throws up a few buildings too, but the links in the previous post are probably best.

Hope I helped

I hate how people now started throwing google at you as the solution to all your problems. Honestly, if google could solve all my life's problems, that would be great.

Untill then, stop it.

Just as a side point, i used these forums for a year and a bit before i joined and i didnt want to join until i had something to show, now obviously this meant i couldnt ask any questions but using google and the site search i wrote a small physics engine, memblock shttering glass code, pathfinding routines, a particle engine and solved numerous problems i was having in my code...what im basically saying is that the search and google can be an invaluable tool to anyone, you do have to sift through alot of crud but all the answers are out there.

<Edit>
Ok heres 7 minutes searching on google.
I thought you might like a monestry or Abbey setting as its a classic setting for the horror genre and the image of defiling the sacred places is potent in most medium.

Mainly shown for the Arches and roof design
http://www.trappist.net/newweb/hist8.html

A more modern style monesty, not my favourite but nice as an isight and a good floor plan
http://www.monksofadoration.org/buildplan.html

A full abbey floor plan, very nice
http://www.mtholyoke.edu/offices/reslife/reshalls/abbey/1.shtml

Some nice medevil styles here
http://www.pitt.edu/~medart/menufrance/sgeorges.html

A little history but a rather poor floorplan
http://www.britainexpress.com/articles/London/London.htm

Not great modeling but the gothic style is magnificent
http://www.britainexpress.com/articles/London/London.htm

I hope that sparked some ideas

barret thnx for teh comment, but dude way uncool even for a rough pirate like me to dis out on those who say "use google". Honestly man gogle can solve all of the worlds problems, especially searching for concept art, you can find all sorts of concept art by typing in teh word concept art, and if you are searchign for somethign specific type in that word! and use the image search too, that would help. But don't go sayign stuff like
Quote: "I have learned rather quickly is that those who type google.com in a "support forum" lack the capacity and functionality to develop as a human being"

cause that just makes you look like a tool. It's good that you're helping noobs out and defending them, but don't go out of your way to badmouth people.or i'll cut you.

Here a couple quick designs.
The first is a split level house. The second is a small 1250 SqFt house

If you have AutoCad I can email you those as well.
If you decide on a particular time period or style I can make some more designs for you.

Thanks, I use AutoCad 2002. The image export is pretty crappy so I cant get large pics from it

I am not an architect so some of the thing might seem a little disproportinate. The only rules I know to follow for the average home when modeling are:
1. Front doors are 36" wide
2. Interior doors are 30" wide
3. Typical ceiling hieght is 8' (11' for upperclass homes)
4. The top of the window must be 6'-7' from the floor.
5. Floor thickness is about 12" in hieght.

I do have the offical architectural standards book. There a lot of good pictures if you want something specific, just to warn i have no scanner just a camera.
