not sure where this should go ther isn't a general post for fps creations. but not to take away anything from fps creator at all. its great. however i know a bunch of people want to know how to make a decent fps in visual c++ well i recently bought this book it takes you step by step on creting a whole engine includes scripting and everything its called Programming a Multiplayer FPS in DirectX

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1584503637/qid=1109995723/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-8831844-6841443

its top notch. though geared towards beginners dont expect to find anything advanced in it. however it's a great starting point if you are interested in having complete control over a fps game that you want to create. having said that ill still be a user of fps creator its a very ideal program

Cheers,
Deion G.

Programming a Multiplayer FPS in DirectX is a pretty good book, but the game engine you'll code is weak at best. I was disappointed. You won't be able to easily create anything near what FPS Creator will do for you, let alone what you could easily do with DB Pro.

If you know C++, and don't mind using Torque, I think your best best is 3D Game Programming All in One (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/159200136X/qid=1110314302/sr=2-1/002-3141015-6037618?v=glance&s=books), but, once again, why mess with that when you have FPSCreator and DBPro available?
