Hey,

I'm pretty happy with Windows XP Pro atm, and I don't really have any intention of changing my OS completly. However, I would like to develop some of my applications for Linux. A Hi-MD disk can hold 1 GB of space and is so small I can carry it, and the player, and the USB cable around in my pocket. Would it be possible to install a Linux distribution onto a Hi-MD disk than use it to boot up that OS on any computer I plug my Hi-MD player into?

Assuming that the computer can use the Hi-MD player as a boot drive then yes.

Just to clarify, what Neofish said is actually the name of the distribution;

"Damn Small Linux"
