Ok, I think Dark basic is a great program, but it seems to be lacking alot of the featurest hat Blitz 3D seems to have, for example, Blitz 3D seems to have a much easier to use collision system, similar to that of Nuclear Glory. The language just seems to have a command for everything , and some of the projects in the user gallery are amazing! The visuals seem to be on par with todays high end games. The language is similar enough to DB that I think I shouldn't have to much trouble converting over, but I just want to get other people opinions on the matter.

This will most likely be a one sided debate, but I cannot get another opinion from the Blitz forums, because they only allowed product owners to join the forum .

Guns arn't the problem, people are the problem, shoot all the people and guns arn't a problem anymore.

I know several people who have totally stopped using DBP and moved exclusively over to Blitz based products. I for one will not because I own almost everything TGC sells and I am too hard headed to give up on that kind of investment.

I own:
DBP
DBC w/enhancements
Dark Matters 1 & 2
Sound Matters 1 through 4
Sound Essentials Vol.1
FPSC EA
CShop
EXGen
DBP Partcle/Cloth Pack
DBP Enhancement Pack
EZ Rotate Enhansed V2
BlueGUI 2
NGC 2.03 & 3.01 for DBP and C++
TextureMaker
Action3D
3D Canvas Pro
DBP Advanced Terrain (free but will purchase pro when available)

It would be nice to see some more support for my investments. With exception of the bugs and lack of support as of late ... DBP is the better of the 2 products IMO (based on trial versions of Blitz products).

There's some great looking DB games but a lot of not so good ones seem to have gotten into the showcase aswell.

I agree there are some great looking BB games but that doesn't mean you can't make one that's just as good in DB.

Just because you switch to Blitz doesn't mean you'll be able to make good looking games. If you put in the time and effort you can make good games in both DB and BB and being pretty good at modelling is a plus.

the one thing that really grabbed me about Blitz, was it's all in one approach to everything. I currently own DBC, and in order to get the kind of effects that Blitz 3D has, I would have to buy DBP, and even if I don't need fancy graphics, I would still have to buy the DBC enhancement pack and then buy the Nuclear glory DLL just to get the kind of collision that is built into Blitz.

Try DBP and Blitz's trials, then pick one.

This isn't a DBP vs. Blitz forum.
