I'd upgrade to a baseball card from a 5200.

Well in that case this must be a good upgrade my only worry is that this is one of those chipsets that one of the archaic games I might buy does not SUPPORT THe FLAMES OF EVIL DEATH AND DESTRUCTION OF THE DREADED DOES NOT SUPPORT WARNING.

Well, I'd say it'll do just fine for a bit, it's been proclaimed as the Doom 3 card too (and from the benchmarks I've seen, runs it like a charm). You just gotta remember that, unlike the PCI-Express x16 version of the card, to plug in the required plug to the card so it gets the necessary juice it needs (and a proper PSU wouldn't hurt either, 450 Watts minimum I'd say).

Oh, and don't be like me when I bought my 5200...and make sure you have an AGP 8x slot before you make the purchase (I'm stuck with the damn PCI version of the card, no AGP slot on my rig apparently).

I'm thinking of upgrading my Geforce FX 5200 soon. Picked out a few options, but I would like to know if anyone have any of these cards.

Would like to know what would be best for gaming.
Right now all I play is Final Fantasy XI -Online-, Doom 3 and Tomb Raider - The Angel of Darkness.

Although I can play these games at a reasonable speed with my current Set-up, I would like to be able to play future games.
I noticed when playing the Republic Commando Demo that my computer was struggling a little, and I wasn't able to actually use the Shader features at a reasonable speed.

The cards I'm looking at are,

Connect3D Radeon X700 LE 128MB DDR DVI TV Retail - £90
PNY Verto GF6 6600 128MB DDR DVI TV Out - £91
Sapphire 256MB Radeon 9600XT DDR DVI-I TV Out AGP
MSI GeForce FX5900XT 128MB AGP TVOut + DVI (OEM) - £109
Connect3D Radeon X700 Pro 256MB DDR DVI TV Rtail - £132
PNY GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x GDDR3 VGA/DVI/HDTV - £141

I've heard mixed things from friends about thier cards. Would like to see what people who own these cards or similar achieve in games.

As each of the games I play most have the Nvidia logos on them, I would guess that it would be better to go with one of them.

System: Windows XP CPU: AMD Athlon 2600+ RAM: 512MB Video: GeForce FX 5200 Audio: C-Media 9739 DirectX: Version 9.0c

code spinneker,
I have just gotten the 6600GT AGP, and it's running fine on a
4x AGP system. Just got Star Wars Republic Commando, and the graphics are to die for. btw, my computer has a 350watt psu.

Here's a hint to those who may get SWRC. A *lot* of people are having problems with it crashing.

It would not load the first level on my WinXP boot drive, but
installing it to a spare drive on my computer totally fixed the
problem. I highly recommend this procedure.

Yah I am sure i HAVE AGP8X I checked the actual Vid card specs under systems and It says it is 8X so I will trust that,
@Required- You should probably get the 6600 as it is shown to have better performance than all the other cards in that list So i would get the PNG one, I myself am getting a Evga card from a good place for 300& canadian (150Pounds) and I will probably get it tommorow!
@ everyone- I was hearing some things about my system maybe slowing down this cards capabilities so i would like to know if this system will runs todays games and some of tommorows games?
SYSTEM
Geforce 6600Gt(128)Agp8X
AMD 2400+
ram 512(will be upgrading when I have more money)
80gb hardrive(will possibly be getting a new one)
52/24/52X cdrw drive(Might upgrade to DVD-R in future)
SONY FLOPPY DISK DRIVE(Most important part of any comp.)
Just a question.
