Have you any idea how many 'offers' of this kind we get on these forums? Loads of them, all wanting something for nothing.

I've been out of the loop for a short while, so I don't know what history, if any, that there is behind jess's lock, but I can't honestly blame him for it.

The proper way to get a good reaction to that kind of post is to prove yourself first - help noobs and post code (both on the forums and on your site). Then when you do ask for contributions, everyone can see that *you* are contributing too.

Although I did think he was a little harsh you sounded like a noob, if you'd said more precisely your aim, instead of taking down EA, it probably would be left unlocked

You would get the same reaction on any forum, or at least any well moderated forum. Joining and posting advertising for your own site on the same day is not a good move.

I would learn from it, and listen to what IanM says, dust yourself off (you're a carpenter, you'll be used to that ), and keep on going.

Welcome, by the way.

LKFX,
I don't want to be the bad guy here, but you're lucky I even aproved that one post at all.

You posted about 5 different posts ( one for each major board ), with exactly the same thing in it - Which was infact advertising your site, and the posts themselves came across as very newbish.

I allowed the one in General chat ( as that is where things like this should go ), but locked it to show I was serious.

Mod's aren't employed by TGC, we are asked, as regulars, to help out in keeping everything clean on the forum.

The bottom line is;
You spammed the forums with promotion for your own site, with a very small, and newbish post. This isn't an action that should be tollerated anywhere IMHO.

I appologize if I was rude.

Jess.
