3 Dimensional Chat / program for .max file format?

i was wondering if there was a program for .max files to import them edit and then export(or just import and export) in the .3ds or .x file formats?also i would only like to know a free one plz, also include where to get it and i would be really thankful and i would appreciate it.

.max is the file format for 3ds max, there are no converters that can converter .max files to .x or .3ds with out a 3ds max installation

Used to be Phoenix_insane registered in september 2003 despite what the date says to the left <--

you can i download this trial converter it could convert just about any 3d object including max thow to buy it you would be set back £200

its alright but thx i just got it and now i converted my ONE file to 3ds so that darkbasic can run it.I also was wondering how to import a 3d model into darkbasic classic?thx

You need to convert your .3ds into a .x file format. Check out the Cartography Shop forum. There is a free plugin there that works well. Or better export your .x directly from your 3d package. There are many free plugins for most of the 3d programs.
