Hi,

After using many premade models for my projects, I decided to have a shot at creating my own. I have 3DS Max 7 and have started off with something small, just a building which consists of a pyramid and a box.

I export my object and I load it in to DBP which seems to act incredible slow at the point of loading the object. After a chat to a few of the guys in #darkbasic (w00t go there... yay) I was told my best bet is to use the Microsoft Direct X format .x and found myself a converter, Conv3DS.exe which unless i'm mistaken is part of the DirectX SDK. This seems to convert fine, it says it supports materials but when loaded in to DBP they seem to disappear and I am left with just an object shaded grey.
I can change the colours on my object and that works fine, just the textures that I use.

I'm not awfully sure why I'm experiencing these problems so I am asking if anyone can tell me where I'm going wrong - I'd be delighted to know.
Also, regarding 3DS files loading slow in DBP - is that just me or is a recognised bug ?

1. the textures all have to bitmaps (bmp.)
2 the textures have to be in the same folder as the model
3 your model is massive if its slowin DBP , everything i do is 3ds files they work fine unless in max where it says segments they are really high then it will go slow segements are like how many polgons it has in it. you only have the segments option ifd a standard object or extened object
