I have a problem and I hope some one could help me. I have made a hi-poy object in lightwave3d and a low-poly of the same object and then made a normal map for the low-poly obj. everything came out great in lightwave but i don't know how to apply the normal map to the obj in darkbasic pro. What r the commands and shadders i need to use to do this?

Dark Basic Professional does not have native normal mapping functions. You would need a Hardware Shader created in order to produce the effect.

There are a number of tools capable of producing Normal Maps.
Nvidia Melody, and Orb are what my brother has on his computer.

I do not know where they come from. Might find them with a quick search.

It is easier to use Melody. Orb has integration with Maya. I do not know what other Modelling Applications it supports.
I will ask for my brother to post on this. Will probably be of more help as he could possibly create the Hardware Shader too.

What modeling program do you have?
Apply the textures to your object inside your modeling app. Then export it as a directX (.x) file which contains both the object and the texture. Then just load that into DBpro.

Thanks Required. I thought that i most likly would have to use a FX Shader file to use the Hardware shaders. I'll have a look at Nvidia Melody and see how i go. I have Maya 6 as well so i'll check out Orb as well. I've never tried 2 wite a shader b4 so it'd be great if you could help. Thanks.
