Beta 5.04 will be released to the testers, as soon as my server comes back online. The provider's web site is down.

-added materials system. See "textures\testmaterials\" for example material files.
-renderer is now a plugin. Source is included, go nuts.
-plugins are now detached from program after operations. You can recompile import/export plugins without restarting the program.
-options dialog with lots of control over rendering options.
-Lots of new rendering features; antialias, texture compression, trilinear filtering, texture quality. Some are silently disabled. at the moment.
-Hardware information and plugin information dialogs give you extra info (in the Help menu).
-fixed a bug in carve where splitting along a vertex would give bad results.
-fixed .usx bug. You can now point your mesh directory to the UT2004 folder and load all staticmeshes without crashing.

I'm going to look into adding a .utx plugin next, for loading Unreal texture packages.

Skalex, every game that uses the Unreal Engine uses .Utx, because that is the Unreal Engine's texture format .

You're not anymore. Nothing against you, it's just that this is something I am letting our media subscribers have exclusively.

Hey Josh !
How are you doing the z-order sorting ?
By vertex, by surface or by mesh ?
BTW, the window would look pretty cool in a game ! I like the feeling it gives

I re-uploaded beta 5.04. Vapournet was having some major problems last week.

Z-sorting is performed per face for brushes, and per limb for meshes, sorted by position of the face/limb. I guess you could still get some errors if you made a mesh with a bunch of different transparent surfaces, but you shouldn't be doing that in the first place. This will give good results in real-time, for any of the situations you should be using.

The Text in the four Views (Perspective, Top...) is really
unsharp now in 5.04. In 5.03 it was better.
It`s heavily flickering now at Startup.

But doing a sorting by triangle won't slow down the things ? If you need to buffer all these data two times ?
