see attached code- in particular sprite priority (forgive code - hacked from various progs)

at outset when I move it around without altering priority, surely middle sprite you control with a,z,n,m should go under sprite on left but over sprite on right??? but it dont!
explanation from the wise ones please...

sprite 2 (the middle sprite) has priority 1 which is lower then sprite 1 priority 2 and sprite 3 priority 3
