DeleD exports to .x and .3ds. Really simple to use.

Metasequoia, Blender, and Milkshape also have .X export capability.

You know, a lot of people put all that data in the modelling software sticky post at the top of the forum. Its there for a reason.

I needed a .x modeler, because I have looked everywhere for a .bsp modeller and I couldn't find one, so I decided to just use DBPro's .x to .bsp converter. I used DeleD and made a simple map and it works perfectly with DBPro's BSP collision system. just one problem though, it seems that some maps that I make with DeleD don't work with the .x to .bsp compiler, these maps usually include something like a sphere or cylinder, but if I just stick to boxes then it works fine.

So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the limitations are to get the map to compile, such as only boxes, or boxes and wedges only. or a list of things not to do.

Um there are two main bsp modellers, Radiant and the Hammer editor, both really easy to find. I dont think the fact that the x. to .bsp converter doesnt work with some of your maps is a fault with DeleD, its just you need everything sealed and it fails if it isnt (correct me if im wrong, its been a while since i tampered with it).

The DBP BSP compiler is limited only to boxes. The alternative is to use the .X file as it stands. LIT and I threw together a sliding collision algorithm to do just that! Here's the link to where we released it:

Has anyone successfully created a bsp map in valve's Hammer editor that worked in DBPro? Because my map loads but it's like it's not there.
