For those of you who have kept track of Firewall's progress, you knew that I have been looking for a publisher for the past few months. I was contacted by one, and was talking with two other ones, but that is all history. A few weeks ago I was contacted by TGC about publishing Firewall, and we have made a deal. Firewall is as far as I can tell complete at last. It will be sold on the TGC website in the next few weeks, hopefully sooner than later.

I would just like to thank everyone on this forum for all of their help and support that they have given me throughout the development of Firewall. I certainly could not have completed it without all of your help. It's been a long journey, and I never could have dreamed that it would end up this well.

I am pretty busy in college, and don't really have much time anymore. I don't plan on programming any more games, at least not for now. I have too much of a social life right now also, something I didn't really used to have...

So there it is, another complete Dark Basic game. I wish all of you luck with your games and hope that you are rewarded as well as I have been. Thanks again.

You've made a damn fine game Bolt, hope you got as much pride out of this as I did fun from playing it so far. It's great to hear you're getting published by TGC, I'm sure that will work out well.

Cheers!

Also a quality game worth publishing, how that didn't win the Alienware Compo, I have no idea!

COnrats

But... TGC sell games now? They've always said they won't

At this moment in time we do not resell or publish games. There are many publishers who specialise in selling games - but there are only a handful who specialise in game creation software, so we aim to keep our focus here where it is needed most. "

Well done guys, unfortunately Firewall does'nt work on my PC, but I've heard nothing but good things about it, well deserved.

DavidT, you should enter Mercs2 in the Gamedev compo, I'm thinking the same for Lonewolf - just a shame we'd have to give up the source code though, means I'd have to tidy it up .

Congrat's Bolt

Even though I knew about this earlier via Beta testing, it's still a good thing to give public congratulations, and here it is

If you don't mind, would it be possible to get a time-line of sorts of the development of this project, if you have records?
I would be interested in the time between idea conceptualization, to the first prototypes, to the first beta's, to now...

If it's too much work, don't worry

Again, great work, and, for everyone out there, the full version is DEFINATLY worth it
Components add an extra layer to the game, and upgrades, and selecting the right unit's is a large strategical element that you'll have to work with ( as in any RTS ) to win your battles! All-round, the game is very well balanced!

Jess.

Congrats, Bolt! I'll probably be one of the first to buy it. I hope I can stick with my project as well as you've stuck with yours. What is it, 2 years you've been working on Firewall?

Best of luck to ya.

Thank you everybody

@Jess: That timeline is a pretty good idea. I could try to construct one, although it wouldn't be perfect. I was always pretty bad at keeping records.

You are most deserving, Bolt, expect a paypal order from my folks coming through.

Just one question for clarification, is it still in DBC or did you switch to Pro?

Just for clarification: Firewall was written in DB Classic, and it is still in DB Classic.

Wow, I used to think DBC sucked. But now I think that it's better than DBPro (I mean, look at the price, and then this game)
