1)how do you make a certain area of a 2d sprite solid?
2)Also, I made a sprite and whole animation for my character, but, as I made the image with a white background, it pops onto the screen with a white background. Is there any way to make the white background of the sprite so that it will not be white, but appear as the image that the sprite is "walking" over?.
To make it simpler, is it possible to make the white background of the sprite "see-through"?

Yep.

Before you load the image say this:

set image colorkey 255, 255, 255

Don't know what you mean by the first section.

that must be for DBpro. I use classic. Any way to do this in DBclassic? By the first part I just meant how do you make parts of the image so that they stop you as a solid object would? You know, like how do you make it so that the image of a chair would be solid as a chair should be. So that you coldn't walk over it, but would hit it and have to go around it.

Black bits will be made transparent.
If you want to have black bits in your picture then use a colour that is very close to black (0,0,1)

Collision is up to you.
You have to code it yourself.

Yes, but for collision would it be best to make all the objects (that i want to be "solid") sprites and use the sprite collision code for each one? answer for DBC please.
