Quote: "The TV3D SDK is a multi-language 3D engine, written primarily in C++ with support for Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic.Net, C#, Delphi, Python, and C++. Built upon the solid DirectX platform, you can quickly and easily prototype complex games and 3D applications in up to 80% less time. "

The website says it all

Part of solving the problem is actually noticing that the problem is there in the first place

It's a 3D engine you use with other languages like C++, VB, etc. The watermark version is free. Download it from their site to see.

I believe the watermark-free version is quite expensive, however. Around $500 or more.

Why don't you download and try it out for yourself? It's not hard to use (I've tried it last year just for fun)...

DarkBASIC of course ...

Really, you're asking this question on the DB forums and you expect an unbiased answer?

But they're completely different! TV3D is an API that's built on C++/C# .net... it's not a BASIC syntax like DBP...

but it's possible to learn and it's faster right?

also - i don't mind difficulty as long as its learnable and can do the stuff right

speaking of db, do you think I could make a game in dbc as good as one in dbp (forget easiness)?

p.s. just to be sure - what exactly is api?

For when they said I couldn't, I did...

Ok, we'll compare TV3D to DGDK

TV3D blows it out of the water. << Unbiased answer

Something like DBP is definitely better for beginners

Everythings possible to learn one way or another.

Why don't you download the free version and start using it? Then you could determine how complex it is for yourself and weigh that up against how long it takes you to do anything with it.

@ richard davey: unfortunately, i only have a 56kbps modem and even though I really want to download it, 35 megs takes a long time so I'm a less hasty to get it. also the server providing truevision3d doesn't have download holding (i can't download it little by little from time to time).

@ jimmy: that helps alot but let me be clear on my situation. the only (ONLY) reason i'm checking out tv3d, is cuz, darkgame/darkbasic pro is too high spec for my crappy PII computer and thus i was looking for something that would work nicely on my pII (no matter how complex or hard it is to learn). I have a little VB knowledge and C++ knowledge, plus I've been programming for some time now - so i can learn faster than a beginner.

p.s sorry for double post!

Also, stop spamming our boards with new threads.

Locked.
