Hey all,
Now, I've posted my fair share of threads complaining about the forums, too much spam, sort out the team requests etc etc. But over the last few weeks I've been using the forums more and more (after finally cancelling my members subscription on Runescape) and everything just seems so much better.

Some peeps might remember a few months ago when the forum seemed to be ful of users and more and more spam was being posted, less and less games were being made. Thanks to the decision to introduce a few new mods that problem seems to have gone away, and it's only to-day that I realise the team requests have done one aswell.

Also, upon reading the newest edition of the newletter I find the inclusion of a kick ass tut ( written by BatVink I think, apologies if I'm wrong.) Maybe to the more experienced users this isn't a big deal but the one thing new users didn't really have were solid explanations of DB's ins and outs, yes there are help files included with DB but IMO these don't really help someone who doesn't have a clue what they're doing. The new help files come in an easy to install format with clear examples and explnation throughout.

So, all I really want to say is, Thankyou to every single person, animal and computer that has worked towards making the forums as friendly and helpful as they are. Thanks again.

The Mod Squad have come up with some collaborative rules and methods for keeping the forum a nice place to hang out in, and get information from, so they're the ones you should thank for that part.
The Team Requsts was ditched by Rich, but was a good idea all round.
Also, Rich should be credited for all the forum upgrades, and the ablities he's given the Mod Squad to keep the forum clean

BatVink and Yellow did good jobs with the tutes ( Cheers, guy's ), so they're to thank for that one.

I guess I'll take one of those thanks for the "every single person" part I do what I can

'roo.

Ah-ha! 'Tis you, Roo.

You're right, the forums are great, but I thought it was amusing to read some of the dodgy team requests (that's probably just me).

The new Immediate Silencing Policy means anyone with any complaints in any forum will immediatly have their account removed, all threads deleted and will have their entire IP range and home city banned from the entire TGC network forever. Hence, it is far more peaceful on these forums.

I am genius... no matter what they say.

Cheers, the comments are much appreciated. There's a lot more to come from Mike and Myself. You should end up with a library of good programming techniques, and hands-on code to spruce up your games over the months to come.

Pfft, who calls him Yellow anymore? Have some respect for Mike, I'm sure he had a good reason for changing his name those many, many, years ago. I bet you wouldn't like it if we went back to calling you 'The Gay Overlord', just because you used to go by that name.

[This account has been removed for excessive swearing and the posting of child pornography on the forum. April Fools Day jokes like that are *not* funny. You have been banned indefinitely!]

Yeah, but if you used to call yourself "The Gay Overlord" you deserve to be called it now

Sorry, I wont say Yellow again. It's just that frog... it's... Yellow.

Lol! I changed my name about a year ago because I thought it sounded better than 'Yellow'. Way back when, 2 years ago, I was cautious about online forums. I went with a name that no one could get my identity from, thus Yellow. One of these days, I'll find courage to change my avatar to avoid further confusion.

That right there, sums up my life story.

A book? I hate book. Book is stupid.

I very rarely tell people my real name as it encourages jokes about fish, fish pies, the size of a fish's sexual organs etc etc

They didn't call you Caviar did they?

good job on fixing up the forums mods, but i still dont like that you took out team request! I was using it with my team, when u took it off, now its permanently highlighted blue in my threads, because someone replied and i didnt check it till that evening and by that time the board was gone. *sigh* o well

Video games…they can take you places unreachable, impossible, unfeasible. They put you in the book...they put you in the movie...they put you in a world, a world that before could only be imagined.

I don't understand why people change their names at all. This is my TGC Forum name and will always remain as so.

The team requests board needed dumping.

Also DBP U5.8 is awesome, can't wait for the expansion packs to be fixed as well

Lots of great things happening here as of late.
