My little brother came over for the weekend, got mad at me...logged onto his computer account and changed my account to 'limited', Now i cannot access half the features I use on a daily basis. Can someone help me out and tell me how to change my account back to normal?

This is windows XP Pro.

Thanks in advance.

change the account password by clicking on your "my computer" icon and then going to change a setting then clicking on user accounts and click on your username and click on creat a password then after you've changed the password you can change the user account from limited to administrator.... that should work if not creat a new account with full access and then delete the old one...or just revert back to a old day with the system restore.

log off if it comes up with the welcome screen press ctrl-alt-del twice then it will come up with the old fasioned style login.(you may have to have a password on your user account then click on it without putting a password befor the ctrl alt del will work) type administrator as the user name with no password and if no one put a password in you can log on. then you can change it back. otherwise tell your freind to fix it

Any spelling mistakes are totally In tensional.

Can you access the command prompt? If so, type

And, walah, the administrator password is changed, and you can login with that account. At teh login screen hit ctr+alt+del twice until the Win2k type login screen shows up, then login as administrator and there ya go.

http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1501&page=5

this website tells u how to reset the passwords if u forget a password this might help u. I think another area of the site tells u how to reset bios passwords but that is simple. To reset a bios password there is a jumper u can remove or u can just take out the battery on the mobo and replace it 10 minutes later.

and for passwords for applications, internet passwords and this even found my windows password u can use cain.

http://www.oxid.it/cain.html

only use these methods for legal password recovering,in case u ever forget your password, which has happened to me before. Hacking or the correct term is cracking is illegal.

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html

that website talks about the difference between hacking and cracking.
