Howdy,

Well this is my first attempt at a real world weapon. It was modelled off of an MP9 (allthough I dont think it looks quite like one). I'm going to texture it sometime soon, when the weather cools off a bit . Tell me what you think:

The on critic i would have is that at the back you cant really see what bit moves (but then im not that hot on handguns)

You're right, now that I re-look at some things it was an m9 that i looked at in our encyclopedia. Somehow between then and now I got it very mixed up. Anyway here's a basic texture I put on it:

lol i hope youre not ofended..anytime someone can tell the exact model number of a pistol or other gun thats very GOOD thing! lol, the texture looks like its coming along good but ive never seen an m9 with a wood handle. hat would look very cool and im not sure what youre going for in youregame but if you want the realistic down to detail feel like in medal of honor or w/e the handle should look like this...

but again this is only if youre going for the realism down to detail factor.

Nice job so far. If your texturing skills aren't the best then trying doing a photo-texture for the gun.

Keep it up Durdge!

Eddie B if you are interested in modelling its best to start off with a freeware modeller, My advice is Truespace 3 (search in google hasn't got a direct site to my knowledge) then when you are more experience and have money get gamespace or truespace 5/6

Eddie B, is AC3D free?? Right now I am using Silo 3D(good) and milkshape 3d for texturing and viewing my model in a more detailed way.

Sorry, nearly died laughing. MoH has massively unrealistic guns.

Nice hi res pics of my airsoft gun. It's slightly different (has an elite slide and lightened hammer) but it should help you with the general shape and proportions.

It's an m9 not an mp9. MP stands for machine pistol and is the german term for submachine gun.
Oh, and m9s dont really come with wooden handles. Thats either some odd civilian version or an aftermarket modification.
