Hi all!
I work in Japan teaching English to kids. I made this game to help them with their listening ability. All the kids have a set pack of word cards which they are meant to study and practice at home...I thought this game might be more fun.
It's a very simple game....fly down a tunnel (straight cos it's easy), I say a word, you have to fly through the matching picture.
10 words to a level...more than 300 words at the moment...speeds up every time. My high score is a measly 1400 or so...you guys should beat that easy....
I know it's just a kids game but I'm very pleased with parts of it, especially the ship effects...
Please try it out and tell me what you think.
The controls are:-
mouse to fly around
left mouse button to repeat the word
right mouse button to change music
mouse wheel to control music volume
Also the game runs at desktop resolution and colour depth
Here's the screenie:

Oh yay, educational games

I only got to level 3... I just couldn't make out what you were saying sometimes, like one tunnel said "white" but there was also a picture of a kid looking at a star, making me think it was "light"

Of course I wouldn't have had as much trouble if i'd actually read your post and realised you could repeat the word by clicking the mouse... my bad

Tis good idea, and the tunnel textures are pretteee tis looking good

And I was trying my hardest to block out my scottish accent too
I've really got to find someone else to record the umm.... vocals...a cute girl's voice always works better with this kinda stuff. I'll just be giving it away free to the kids anyway so it doesn't have to be perfect...
By the way, the kids are only about 5 years old or so. Do you think they'll be able to control the ship ok?

I want that one
