i have some ideas that the PS3 would (and probably will) have,
Lens that reads PS2 discs and obviuosly ps3 discs,
internal hard drive (5 Gigs maybe more),
UMD Disc Reader seperate from the ps3 reader,
Wireless online Capability also built in modem for dial-up and broadband,
4 (thats right four) controler ports.

post here ps3 thoughts you think will be on the ps3 and hope fully on the ps3 Have Fun

The Playstation 3 will have a 128-bit Cooperative-Processor (not the official term, but I think it describes it better), 128MB RAM, BluRay Technology and the same damn joypad that is loved and hated the world over.

It'll keep 2 controller and memory card ports (because lets face it, it's basically a trademark, and I think they build them like that). It won't have a UMD Disc Reader built-in, but will have a USB attachment for it.

There will be no built-in Wireless networking, but there will be a built-in Broadband (ethernet) connection. I can forsee them in introducing a wireless Ethernet Adapter though. (which would be very useful)

No internal Hard Disk as standard (Sony have been very clear on this)

It'll have the most powerful next generation graphics card.
Rumours are that while the NV50 is complete for testing, that Sony deliberately want it redesigned post ATI R520 press release.

It's only a rumour, but is quite a sound judgement. It is likely the PS3 will be the most powerful nexgen. Thing is though, while it keeps it's compatibility for old title (even PS titles) the fact will remain that the X-Box is now top-dog according to the last few months sales. Nintendo are still last, and quite frankly they don't seem to care. They're making a huge profit, so in the end everyones a winner.

Rumour about the Nintendo Revolution is that the controller is 100% touch-screen based. Quite an exciting rumour if true, but also an unnerving one. I mean how would you tell what button is press and how hard you've pressed? Meh.

Should be a very good E3 at the end of the month.

It will come with a VHU(Vibrating Helmet of Uberness) and two VHU ports. The helmet has 356 levels of vibration, and several different spinal reactions. These include and produce the patented Thud, Twist and Coma effects.

You are not alone.

E3 Expo - May 17-20th 2005 in Los Angeles at the Convention Center. (cough:doh:cough)

It's always going to be in LA, since basically 2002 it's been decided that LA is now the home of E3. Before that it used to move from state to state.

Yup that's right folks, E3 is closing in very fast.

Blech. That is going to suck. They should just stick with the NGC controllers. If they're that desperate to "innovate", they should invest money in smell cards or something like that

They have also said, they are thinking about making them standard wireless.

BTW, they have made it clear it will have an 4 GHz +

They havnt said anything about ths except that they are thinking about, but using software that disables modding for free game copying. It would be for new games and the ever growning online empire.

That would suck, too. I don't know about you but I don't want to have to replace the batteries in my controllers all the time.

Then again I won't be buying a PS3 --- the PS2 was bad enough

Hmm, well considering that if they do that they will have conrtoller docks on the system, because they will have rechargeable batteries.

Well, there's something about having a long cord on a game controller that makes me feel like I'm playing a real game. Those Wavebird/wireless/MadCatz controllers are too gimmicky.

PS2 was dissapointing, and Sony have terrible customer service.
I was a loyal PS1 fan, and liked PS2 until it broke out of the blue.. twice.

I won't be buying a PS3. I have an XBox, which doesn't break and has many of the same games as PS2 anyway. XBox 2 for me...

Dumbo and Cool - back on track! 2 level demo and screens in WIP board, 5mb! Go on... have a look.

The wireless you're mentioning, do you mean as in Wireless LAN's or Wireless Controllers etc?

Of course theres the fact that the controllers would be easy to lose if they were wireless.

Well the haven´t made it clear. It´s just some popular speculation over some white paper Sony released that it would be 4.6GH. Though it´s pretty safe to say itll be over 4GH. We have 4gh p4s now adays I think (Not too up to date with pc specs)so it´s a safe asumtion. The cell chip looks very interesting though, I just hope they include 4 ports for controlers. I´m used to not being limited to 2 controlers now. And the only way I´ll be getting a multitap is if I win it or get given it.

According to a magazine that I read, they met a person in a bar who worked in a "leading highstreet retailer" and that that person had been told that the ps3 would be in their shop by the end of the year. reliable sources or what?!

From what i've read it wont have a hard drive built in(They're gonig to end up making a lot of money on this when they release one that can be attached)..

I do believe they will have a UMD reader, whether it comes with it or is an accessory is another story.

I do not believe it will be wireless based, it'll have an ethernet connection and the controls will plug in as normal...

That's just what i think though...

The xbox on the other hand is said to be wireless based(wireless internet and controlers).

Also, i thought that ATI wasnt making the graphics card for the Playstation series anymore.. i thought they had an argument or something and sony decided they were going to part make it or something.. And i also thought that the XBOX had a new agreement with ATI to make video cards for their consoles?

Do these companies have arguments with each other? God that´s sad. Anyway.I heard that Nvidia are making ps3´s chip which is suposed to be ready sometime this year. Seems strange that people are making games for a console when the graphics chip isn´t even finished yet. That´s the games industry for you.
I also heard that ATI are making the chips for the X360 and the "revolution". In fact IBM are also making chips for those 2. Does that mean they´re going to have the same power? Probably Nvidia were overcharging Microsoft for thier chips or something.
I´m a bit worried about the chip in the revolution though. Aren´t ATI chips suposed to be a tad slow when it comes to OpenGL?

Yes they are, though they apparently hired some programmers to work on the newer versions of the chips OpenGL, which they say should match or be better than Nvidia's chips in the future(we'll see about that).

Personally, i'm quite glad that Microsoft have switched over to ATI.

Hahah, I knocked my ps2 over today, it fell 4 feet. It still works...

So maybe it was a later generation of the PS2 that has the problems or something? Or maybe my PS2 just kicks that much ass.
